This event was held on September 25, 2022 which was the first Car-Free Day in Lagos. This featured goodwill messages from LUDI and some other members of the partnership, LAMATA’s GM represented by Engr. Konyeha Osa, other representatives of the partnership, Cycology and African Cycling Foundation, and a keynote address from the Governor which was delivered by the Honourable Commissioner of Transportation. Other features of the event included bicycle ride, launch of Trishaw by the Danish Consulate in Lagos, bike ride training, skateboarding, games, electric bicycle rides, exhibition, sales and swapping of bicycles by SIMBA, etc.
In attendance were government officials from the MoT, LAMATA, Neighborhood Watch Corps, students from public schools in Lagos, and riders from various cycling groups. Also, there were local women from Ikeja communities who came to sell food and drinks at the event.
