What is WLN?

The Women Leadership Network (WLN) is a LUDI initiative designed to build a strong network of women leaders from five communities in Lagos. These women, active in community development associations, churches, markets, and local politics, are brought together to deepen their leadership capacity and drive positive change within their neighborhoods.

Through WLN, women are equipped to lead and advocate for projects that reflect their communities' real needs, such as the allotment garden in Oworonshoki and waste sorter bins in Ikeja. The initiative also supports women in understanding legal pathways to access public land for sustainable community solutions.

The LUDI Women Leadership Project intends to initiate such a knowledge sharing network with women from 5 communities in Lagos who have shown commitment towards neighborhood development (as members of local community development associations or churches, market representatives, local political leaders, etc).

The first workshop with the women successfully equipped participants with practical advocacy skills and sparked a deeper understanding of their roles as changemakers in their communities. Each participant left with a clearer plan for taking their first step toward community advocacy.
