LUDI AT WORLD URBAN FORUM 11

LUDI’s Engagement at the World Urban Forum 11 in Poland: Championing Gender-Inclusive Urban Design

LUDI proudly participated in the 11th World Urban Forum, a distinguished global event dedicated to advancing sustainable urbanization, held in Poland. At this prestigious forum, we had the opportunity to present our pioneering Gender-Inclusive Design Guide, a comprehensive manual advocating for the incorporation of gender considerations in urban design practices.

The Gender-Inclusive Design Guide is a transformative tool that addresses the complex and multifaceted challenge of creating urban environments that cater equitably to all genders. While the scope of this guide cannot encompass every aspect of gender inclusion, our primary goal is to inspire urban designers and planners to critically evaluate their design choices and prioritize the inclusion of women as key stakeholders in the development of urban spaces, particularly in Lagos.

We believe that by integrating gender perspectives into urban design, we can foster environments that are not only inclusive but also reflective of the diverse needs of all community members. LUDI’s participation in the World Urban Forum underscores our commitment to advocating for gender-sensitive approaches in urban development, encouraging a more inclusive and equitable future for cities worldwide.
